RBPE 198
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm driving it every day since I finished it and have experienced no problems. I'll be interested to see how the intercooler stacks up, was looking at them for some of the lower powered builds but thought they might be a bit small for the flow these cars can generate. We've got a similar one that is longer and a bit thicker but is twice as much as those - keep us in the loop on it mate!

I haven't had it on a rolling road yet, but it's expected to be 400+ bhp at the crank. Not sure of the amount of drivetrain loss through the 4wd system
cicciovr6 0
Wow..But about gt3582r..i've see that there are 3 models on garrett website..what is your turbo? Which ar? Which trim?
dave_424 48
I too found there too many options for the gt3582r so I phoned up turbo dynamics to order. It's a . 82 exhaust housing, t3 flange and 4.bolt exhaust outlet (ideally I would have liked v-band) also a 4" compressor inlet
cicciovr6 0
And about spool? What is turbo range? How many psi at max boost?
dave_424 48
Starts building boost a bit above 2000rpm and full boost at 3000. Max boost is whatever you have the system set at.
cicciovr6 0
Have you got a video of The tacho?
dave_424 48
Here boost was about 12-13 psi
cicciovr6 0
Thanks...but your max boost is always 12-13psi? Or have you tried to get more boost?
dave_424 48
I'm not sure you understand how turbo boost works. Boost is what you set it to, and will stay at that psi. Unless you want more power, then you can turn it up. Because I'm on standard pistons and conrods I don't want to push the power too high so have set my boost level to around 15psi to be safe. I have run over 20 briefly. Also using the plastic intake manifold so dont want that to break. If I wanted to I could turn it up to 30psi but things would start to go bang. cicciovr6 0
I ask this to know how much boost stock rods/pistons can handle in safety mode... So my question is: what is the max boost with stock hardware? ( but with a head spacer)
dave_424 48
It's generally accepted that 15psi is safe with a GT35 turbo, can possibly push it to 20. That's with head spacer, ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs and a very good tune. RBPE
cicciovr6 0
I'm thinking to driving safety whit 10psi, but in race mode whit 18psi.. So for compression ratio what is the best choise? 9:1 or 8.5:1?
vr6downsouth 0
Awesome build mate. Where did you source your r36 rod bearings from?
