ssaunders 199
Hi all, changed my plugs the other day and got rid of my full boost stutter, got in it today and it's only running on 4! After speaking to a mate I found the 2 cylinders back right and front left took the lead off and put a plug in, swapped leads around and it looks like the coil is fubard'd. It doesn't look like a standard, I am running an emerald ecu.Can anyone identify it?CheersSteve
Mk3highline 287
It looks like a standard pack with the plug taken off?? I've got a coil pack from a v64mo if you want to butcher it?

ssaunders 199
Hi, it looks like the ICM has been removed and it's wired direct to the emerald ecu. I am goin to try this fix with a ford pack.http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4223032-Ford-Coil-Pack-on-VR6-with-PicsAnyone done this? Also the base where it connects to the engine block isn't the same?CheersSteve Edited July 15, 2015 by ssaunders
science 7
Isn't the Icm still on there in pic 1?AFAIK there were two types of coilpack for the VR6, Beru or Bosch. The Beru has the connections from the ICM at the top, the Bosch at the bottom. Maybe a Beru coilpack on a Bosch ICM?If it doesn't have the five pin plug, then it must be wired straight into the ECU. FishWick 21
The coils are fired from the Emerald's internal amps, hence bypassing the ICM. Did the same with my DTA, worked fine. It's a standard coilpack mate.
