Bealieboy 1,625
I thought it was approx 5.5l required although that's probably what I had to buy for the previous oil change on mine.
boab3 164
Easy enough if i knew my dipstick tube i bought was the correct length i bought a plastic top tube but im sure its longer than the original Bealieboy
Bealieboy 1,625
Did the old plastic top disintegrate? I could measure the one on mine when I'm back from work. boab3
boab3 164
Yeah it was crumbling so i bought another fitted it then filled with oil which im sure was close to needing 7 litres to show on dipstick so i only put in 5.5 the previous time this time its quantum synta that im using with genuine vag filter so not wanting to under or over fill i was going to use a measuring jug if i got exact quantity needed. Thatd be great if you can and also the length of dipstick much appreciated cheers

boab3 164
Ok now im thinking i did the conversion on my mk2 the vr engine is an early vr dizzy style i read on gruvenparts that there are two dipsticks one gor early models one for later.the early models use the orange plastic piece on top of dipstick tube im sure when i first stripped engine down the dipstick was broken and as i have a spare obd2 engine i used that dipstick which would be shorter and now even more shorter with the orange plastic piece being fitted.id better get some measurements and part numbers from what ive got fitted
Bealieboy 1,625
Yeah, that's odd, that was on my obd2 nothelle car, plastic bit seemed odd to me as I don't recall there being a plastic orange top on the green goddess dipstick tube!
boab3 164
Think ive got a bit of both.im sure the tubes will be the same length but the orange plsstic piece will be added on for the longer dipstick. Edited July 21, 2015 by boab3
