JakeP 53
Right I need a bit of advice , I've timed the bottom half of the engine as the head is not ready , piston 1 is at tdc and the ground tooth opposite the main cap split , but I couldn't seem to get the intermediate shady sprocket bang on , it's about 1mm right of the guide mark behind the sprocket is that anything to worry about or do I have to re do it ? Put the mk4 MLS headgasket with the ARP head studs on and the SRI on brans

JakeP 53
And does anyone know where I can get v-bands for both inlet and outlet?
ssaunders 199
darkside developments do a range, http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/alloy-v-band-clamp-kit-2-2-5-3-3-5-4.html you may need to weld the fitment on though. JakeP 53
I bought a Walbro 400 inline fuel pump and decided to have a crack at fitting it in place of the standard pump , the only thing is I can only get it to a certain point and the pump won't go further down , any advice on if this will be ok or do I need to find a way to get it to come down more ?
VR6Pete 1,455
You will need that pump to be at the bottom of the swirl pot otherwise you will be running the pump dry even with 1/4 tank of fuel
JakeP 53
Damn I'll have to edit the housing slightly , because it has a large bit at the bottom of the pump inline the 255 so it sort of wedges itself in there
JakeP 53
Is this any better? Pretty much all I can do plus I think it's the same height my old pump was at a
VR6Pete 1,455
Yeah looks much better. Do you have a filter to clip over it? Be carful running low fuel as you probably will run out before and possibly more likelihood of surging. Rule of thumb don't let tank run 1/4 empty.
JakeP 53
Yeah it comes with a filter at the bottom of the sleeve I just took it off for the photo , yeah I'll be very careful of my fuel when it's all up and running
JakeP 53
Little update on how the engine is coming along , pretty much finished , have to get my 02m gearbox to a local gearbox builder to have a look and see what it's like and then change to steel shifting forks and recon the box bennyk
