korsou 9
Hello Gents, As some of you know I am looking for wheels for me MK3 VR6. I have come across some nice wheels but they are 17x8. Do any of you know if these will rub once I lower my car? I am not planning on going really really low. Also, I have bought the Brembo 323mm brakes for my car. Do these fit in any 17" wheel? Thanks as always for all the help, Korsou
daveyboy 897
Hi mate. I Can't give you an answer about your brakes but I'm running 17x8.5 on the back of my mk3 and running pretty low and I don't have any issues Bealieboy
Bealieboy 1,625
I'm running 9's on the front and 11's on the back. Fortunately I have zero suspension so I only get an occasional wiff of burnt rear tyres, this only happens on a dip in the rd, not a hump!
matty.vrt 120
17x8 are ok as long as you dont go lower than et30. I used to run 215/40/17 with mild arch rolling on back just to push the lip up. Bealieboy
korsou 9
Hello Gents, Thank you very much to all for your awesome help. I have found some cool wheels, which I will probably end up buying. Can anyone please confirm if any 17" wheel will fit the 323mm Brembo brakes? The ET for the wheels is 35mm and 17x7.5 Thanks again for the AWESOME help. Have a great one, Korsou Edited February 16, 2016 by korsou Bealieboy
matty.vrt 120
There's no way of knowing until you try them. Some wheels of the same size fit different to others, for example Compmotive and team dynamics will usually have more clearance than the same size BBS. It's all down to the profile of the back of the spokes.
daveyboy 897
Mine are et35. They should be fine
korsou 9
Hello matty.vrt, Thanks for your response. In that case worst case senario would require a spacer to have to wheels fit further out right? Do you know if they will fit in 17" wheels though?
korsou 9
Helo daveyboy, Thanks a lot for your input.
korsou 9
What do you guys think? My car is Jazz Blue though. daveyboy
matty.vrt 120
I used to run 330mm AP Racing brakes so the diameter will not pose an issue.

korsou 9
Hello All, Hope all are having a great weekend so far. I have received my wheels !!!!!! Yuhuuuuuuuuu !!!! Do you guys think I should go with 205/40/17 or with 2015/40/17 tires? Thanks for the help !!!
matty.vrt 120
215 is the minimum recommended width for a 8j rim and worked really well for me. 205 would physically fit and would give that show car stretched look. Performance would obviously be compromised slightly but really it's all down to taste. korsou
korsou 9
Hello Matty, These wheels are actually 17x7.5 not by 8 Thanks for the response !!!
daveyboy 897
I run 195/40/17 on my 7.5×17 and 205/40/17 on the 8.5×17 and they've got a nice amount of stretch on both not too much tho korsou
dom.joy 87
I also run 195/40 Falkens on a 7.5" wide wheel. Tyrestretch.com shows you what different sized tyres look like on wheels.
