AxlFoley 5
The tappets on my VR have been noisy since i drove a bit quickly through a big puddle, but lately they are getting even more noisy, I am looking to replace them, the question is where from? Should i bite the bullet and get them from VAG, or are there cheaper options that are just as good ? Thanks in advance Mark
rsweeney 40
The two things sound unrelated , but if they do need replacing these are genuine lifters for the 12v vr6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Genuine-INA-VW-Golf-MK3-2-8-VR6-Hydraulic-Tappet-Lifter-Set-034109309AD-/262002716311?hash=item3d00942e97:g:LdUAAOSwjVVVy6Fp VR6Pete
VR6Pete 1,455
hello mate. Yeah wouldn't expect hydrolic lifters to become noisy after driving through a puddle. Probably just worn due to age and noise resonating. Replace lifters and put some fresh synta silver oil in.
