VR6Pete 1,455
German tuner AC Schnitzer has revealed its mean, green machine at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the BMW M 235i Coupe, the concept features a racing green paintjob and a modified version of M3/M4’s S55 3.0-liter inline-six, instead of the of the stock N55 3.0-liter turbo straight-six. The company also increased the power output to 570 hp, which is a 197 hp more over the standard M2’s 3.0-liter. That was achieved thanks to a long list of upgrades such as an optimized carbon intake, a Drexler locking differential, a new ECU and a full custom sports exhaust. The car also has been fitted with fully adjustable suspension, while the greatest possible deceleration ensures Carbon-ceramic brake discs. Equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, the ACL2 sprints to 100 km/h (62mph) in 3.9 seconds, which is a few tenths quicker than the M2’s (4.3-second). Top speed is an impressive 205 mph. The model also has a wide-body makeover that includes new bumpers with larger air intakes, side sills, aggressive diffuser and huge fixed wing at the rear as well as a wider fenders, which adds 5.5 inches to the coupe’s width. It rides on custom forged AC1 alloys in anodized red wrapped in 20-inch Michelin PSS tires, specifically designed for the concept. Inside, the company has removed the rear seat bench and added two Carbon racing bucket seats in the front as well as a new trimmings, aluminum gear shift knob and pedals and a tweaked steering wheel. AC Schnitzer says for now the ACL2 remains as concept vehicle and is not for sale, only serves for the company’s product development. However, the tuner claims that outfitted with all of these parts the coupe would cost around €149,000.00. View the full article
