Edmonzo 0
Has anyone got a "How To" on removing and fittig a coil pack on a '95 olf VR? Mine has been doing the chuggy thing and I've just tested it by spraying fine mist on the coil pack while it's running and there were sparks outside of the pack. !sad Also, can anyone recommend somewhere to buy the coil pack other than the dealers? Thanks Guys. Eat this 2
sorry silicone would do a decent tempory repair
mightyvr6 0
Looks right. Seriously though try coating the plastic with epoxy as the sparking is caused by hairline cracks in the plastic which causes arcing. Coilpacks rarely fail (my original coilpack is on 126,000) and the repair will make it work perfectly. It's only when one of the coil fails that you'd need a new one so it's defo worth doing the repair.
binliner 0
what he said!If you do change it it's a doddle to do... just unplug the connector and leads and then theres a bolt in each corner to undo... do the reverse ti fit the new one and job done

Edmonzo 0
Went to B&Q and they only had normal epoxy resin and hardener - not the high temperature stuff. The only stuff I could see that was water proof and okay up to 120oC was some super glue called EXTREME. Do you reckon this would be the same or is it just the epoxy that I need?
