sekvr6 0
Hello guys, I have owned my VR6 for 2 months now and unfortunately have had an accident. Front end damage (grille, bumper, radiator, headlights) and a broken tie rod (I think as well). Insured 3rd party and tried to get a quote for repair, but its "beyond economic repair". Anyway it’s a mystic blue 97 P Reg, 88k miles with Factory Fitted Grey Leather heated interior, it has part service history, engine and gearbox are in excellent condition, K & N induction kit, Koni adjustables with Eibach Springs (springs, wishbones and top mounts fitted by AMD a month and half ago), Mitek Stealth Stainless Steel exhaust, Vibratec engine mounts, privacy glass fitted all round (all glass in excellent condition), Clifford Solaris full closure alarm with remote start, delocked door handles as well (rear right handle broken by the recovery guys!). It has Wolfrace 17 inch alloys but these are dented from the accident, however I have a set of the original 16 inch BBS with good tyres all round. All these mods (other than the springs) fitted from May 2004 onwards. I have a dyno print out from the previous owner indicating an engine output of 194 bhp/ 183 lb-ft. I also have all the paperwork for the rest of mods listed above. Its on my driveway and would need to be towed/transported away. It makes me want to cry every morning when I look at it and go to work in my MICRA now, so can someone make me an offer to take it off my hands!! I am located in Bicester, Oxfordshire, email me on smupasi@aol.com for pics and further details, I can also be contacted on 07832344063. Thanks
Nerih 0
So sorry to hear it go . I would seriously consider fixing it yourself, if its only what you said it is, then a new grille, radiator and headlights would cost at least 200 quid and a tie rod(dunno what that is, but cant cost more than 500 for it?) thats 800 quid for a repair...p.smove this to parts for sale and you'll get response. mtopple 0
As above sorry to here about your acident. I would consider getting the work done, find a decent garage (not VW) nearby and get them to look at it, there is a guy called Adrian who is breaking a VR6 and has all the front grill bumber, bonnet in excellent condition at good prices, email him on ads@aphex.co.uk as I can't aford to spend any more money on my motor (over 2k rebuilding my engine), good luck! sekvr6 0
Thanks for the responses guys. I am wondering, if there would be any structural damage if the air bags did not deploy. Am I correct in assuming that if there is no damage to the chassis then everything is just bolt on/off?
