VR6Midas 0
Here is your opportunity to own your very own 90's Hot Hatch Legend, one of the best specification Mk3 Golfs in all of Great Britain, which are rapidly increasing in value. This could be your 1997 Volkswagen Golf VR6 3 Door finished in stunning Satin Silver Metallic with some of the very best factory fitted optional extras from new. They include optional; metallic paint, full black leather interior with heated front seats, Climatronic digital climate control and the fabulously smooth and intuitive 01M automatic gearbox. The added bonus and the reality of the auto gearbox is that it has looked after the engine far better than the manual equivalent could ever do, no matter the driver; without the possibility of stalling, lugging or over-revving; this engine performs like a motor that has done half the mileage! These factory options would have set you back nearly three thousand pounds in 1997! Included in the sale is a personalised private number plate valued at £400. Since new it has travelled only 108,560 miles and has worn them lightly; the engine, gearbox, suspension and brakes feel sharp, taught and focused. It comes with so much history and the original hand book, service schedule and alarm guarantee & manual. Plus loads of extra original booklets and brochures including; the original order sheet, the original bill of sale, a Golf VR6 Sales brochure, a Volkswagen Accessories brochure and the original aftercare and sales folder from the supplying dealership Rye Mill Volkswagen in High Wycombe. All of the electronics are working perfectly, including; the rear window defroster, the electric windows, electrically operated glass sunroof and heated electrically adjustable door mirrors all operate beautifully. Work that I have had carried out includes but is not limited to; the addition of bonnet gas struts by German manufacturer GOM with a silver finish, the original Sony radio was not operable or salvageable so I purchased and installed a Pioneer DAB+ Radio with Bluetooth connectivity, Apple and Android compatibility, single CD slot, FM Radio with Mixtrax, a dedicated electronically boosted DAB Antennae and an AUX in port featuring; 3.5mm jack and USB 2.0 port for flash drives up to 32GB were also fitted very neatly and discretely, it is a very nice system, sounds great and blends into the interior very well with colour matched dash illumination and detachable face plate with storage box for security. Speaking of which, the original lady owner had the electronics specialists - The Sound Studio of High Wycombe - fit an alarm and immobiliser system with remote central locking and keyless entry that is in perfect working order and comes with two key fobs. A replacement glove box release lever was fitted, both windscreen scuttle panels had degraded rubber gaskets along the top edge and have been replaced with superb condition ones from a newer 2002 Golf Convertible (yes, many parts are interchangeable!) The car will come with fully tailored HiTech hard wearing rubber floor mats front and rear with securing posts for the front mats. I had all four tyres replaced with brand new Continental Premium Contact 2 tyres on the original BBS 15 inch Alloys and the car handles like a modern hot hatch as it aught to. It hasn't failed me once and I have done nearly 5000 miles in the car, including a trip from my home near North Lincolnshire down to Silverstone and back, 270 mile round trip and it performed flawlessly. My intention was to drive across to Germany to visit friends and take a day trip to it's birthplace of Wolfsburg and I know with certainty, it can do it easily and in style! The condition of the car is very good all round, the glass is perfect and undamaged, the paint is good for it's age showing little signs of wear and the interior is fresh and undamaged also, with the exception of a minor tear approx. 3cm long in the driver's seat right hand bolster which is typical for most 100k+ mile leather interior vehicles, a quote from a local specialist leather repairer says £30 would repair it fully. It is also taxed until 1st of October 2019 and the MoT which has just been renewed expires on 12th of August 2020. Located in North Kelsey, approx 9 miles north of Market Rasen, Lincolnshire and owned by a true VW Enthusiast and Conservationist. I am asking for offers around £1,800. {The 'REDLINE' number plates on the car in the photos is not the private plate that comes with the car, my neighbour who is a private car dealer took these photos as I asked him to help me sell the car and he placed his dealer name plates on there.} Edited August 19, 2019 by VR6Midas 2nd price decrease and MoT Renewal
dave2219 0
Has the gearbox oil ever been flushed/changed at all? Cheers
VR6Midas 0
Hi Dave, no not to my knowledge, but he drives perfectly all the same. I actually looked into renewing the gearbox oil and filter and even the diff oil too (differential oil is separate with the 01M gearbox) and to the discouragement of my trusted car mechanic (ex-Volkswagen technician) with 25+ years of experience and after comprehensive research on the internet regarding this matter, they said it truly is a case of 'if it's working well, don't try and fix it'. Of course opinions will differ but the majority of folks say; if it feels good, leave well alone. Also worth mentioning I have several spare mechanical and cosmetic parts for the interior and exterior of the car which could be included in the sale. Thanks for the inquiry. VR6Midas 0
Okay folks, looking to get this car sold; I'm willing to take offers around £1800 ono. Also just renewed his MoT Test so has a full years MoT again. It is a great car that needs a new owner as I sadly can no longer give him a home, he really is worth a look.
