Tamcaone 0
Hello all. So I had just purchased a used vw '99 gti VR6 (MK3) with 116k miles. When I first saw the car it looked very clean, it had minor mods done to it. Neuspeed P-chip, lower tie bar, rear sway bar, ss brake lines, slotted rotors and a neuspeed full cat-back exhaust. Nothing major really, but it idles like a subaru wrx. On take offs it sounds like it has a mis. No CEL at all (there is a bulb there, I checked it). So I thought with a little bit of tune up it might fix it. So I did the following; oil change (with hot engine flush) fuel filter (bosch) seafoam new plugs (oem) new wires (oem) fan switch valve cover gasket all new vacuum hoses k&n panel filter After installing the new plugs and wires, I bought a spark tester and tested the coil pack and it's firing on all cylinders. I checked the fuel pressure after installing the new filter and it read 37 psi, the fpr was also very dirty but I cleaned it out the best that I can. While I was replacing the valve cover gasket I checked the timing and it was spot on. Now my question is: Could a low fuel pressure make the car idle like it has a mis or is there a chance that it might have a plugged catalytic converter?
