matrix 0
like a straining noise cant really explain too well but will try it only lasts 10 seconds or so but just wondering what it is try to imagine a belt too tight or water being pushed through a small hose too fast sorry cant really think of a better explanation. antera309 3
It's quite common to get nasty noises from the power steering pump when the fluid is cold. Does the noise get worse when you turn the steering wheel?

mightyvr6 0
Could be the starter motor overrunning or not disengaging properly after the engine fires
SHARKY 0
I'd go with mightyvr6....I had a whirring/ grinding noise when I started my motor about 12 months ago...My starter was sticking on for a few seconds after the engine started. I got the starter took out and cleaned (wasn't able to D.I.Y. cos of a knee op !dodge ). He said it had a bit of "clutch dust" (mines been stood on and off for the last three years so wasn't getting a fair run).It was a bit mucky, but it did the job - well it was ok until last week when it packed up.Perhaps, try a clean up of the starter motor, or have it refurbed/ serviced.Hope this helps.....
