LouieP 0
Hey guys, I replaced my cooling system hoses today with some forge motorsport ones. I unforunately did have to remove my coil pack to and leads etc to remove some of the nasty vw clamps however upon starting her up again she was very rough. Any ideas what would cause this? I was very much losing day light so I packed up and said i would have a look tomorrow. Is there anything is should check. Going to recheck my leads and coilpack tomorrow but anything else that I would have over looked?
Philly-R6 28
How did you get on with your checking of your connections? It sounds like it can only be your HT leads or the connection to the coil pack. Ensure the HT lead is pushed home onto each spark plug. You could remove each spark plug in turn and check each one is sparking out of the engine. You may need assistance to crank the engine or hold the spark plug against the engine (with insulated grips).
LouieP 0
Thanks for responding I have not had a good check over as yet. The weather has been quite pathetic here in New Zealand but will have a check on Saturday or Sunday. The plan is check the HT Leads and Coilpack first and give it a shot then move over to the ICV. I scanned the car with obdeleven (obd2) and luckily no codes were stores, I was expecting to see cam sensor and/or crank. Will definitely update this to help the the future readers. LouieP 0
Sorted the issue out and thought I would update for future readers with an area to check with a similar issue. My main ecu harness had gotten snagged in the coilpack screw and broke two wires, broken wires replaced, soldered and sorted.
