Charged vr6 0
Hi there guys, had my vr since march (ish), loved it at first but since like two months, i have had problem after problem and its killed my pocket, (as its my day to day runner)...Just had a new clutch, lead and plugs changed, and a lil tune up.There is a problem with the fuel consumption, for the past 3 months, its been drinking more and more fuel. Now sometimes i put 10 pound petrol and i might get like 11 miles, on a good day like 30miles. This is leading me to think of selling it, but i dont want to love the car to bits.Any idea ? (i had the cat and sensor changed at powerflow) my mech said the lambada sensor or the cat isnt right ?i need your help guys big time, otherwise i will have to consider of selling it &| thanks in advance
MrBen 0
Have you VAG-COM'd it? Might through up some error codes to give you an idea. VR's can certainly be thirsty but there's something wrong to manage 4mpg!
stockers 1
if the lamda probe is knackered your fuel consumption will be high, from waht i remember when mine was replaced it wasn,t thst expensive. i'm surprised they didnt change it when they did your cat, often the lamda gets damaged when removing the cat-so i've been told. andy 0
Have you got a hole in the fuel tank....seriously that mpg is awful. What does the MFA (fuel computer) register mpg wise?
Charged vr6 0
Have you got a hole in the fuel tank....seriously that mpg is awful. What does the MFA (fuel computer) register mpg wise?Normally 17 to 20, but if you jus accelerate it jus drops, and if i put my foot down for a bit it drops as low as 8 i think.its killing me, well depressed just want to get it fixed lol. Way to expensive for me to run.

badboyV6 4
definitely not right mate- doesnt sound like a fuel leak as the mfa is reading far too low as well...
