Ciaran 4
heard that some VR's if not all came with a primative form of traction control. have noticed my car seemed to grip amazingly well with a strong wiff of clutch this would explain the clutch being slipped by the TC.my car is an ODB2 car 96 on a P 3doors in silver.so any ideas??????? sijo 0
I could do with an answer to this as well. I have a OBD1 on L plate and seem to get good traction in the snow. . .
Nerih 0
i understand below a certain speed there is somthing, but am unsure, perhaps the clutch slip, is becuase your clutch is on its way out (notably, i've experienced this even though my clutch is fine).
Ciaran 4
no clutch is fine thought that aswell but tried various other ways of testing it and it's fine.that explains it then must be to about 45 or 50 then cos sometimes coming of round about in 2nd i get loads of grip but then as i reach a certain point after the second cam i tend to lose grip!! shail 0
Its called EDL and only came with earlier Vr's.
VRmonster 1
nah, under 25mph the edl works. basically it is the abs sensors seeing the wheels spin and it then brings on the brakes on/off/on/off very sharply, hence the rattly feeling you all faild to mention in the snow. anything above 25mph though and you can spin away. Nerih 0
i never drive in the vr6 snow, i take the impreza instead, is safer.

matth76 1
Apparently only the Highline comes with Traction Control. I own a non-Highline 1997 P-reg (therefore ODB2 engine) but definitely does not have traction control. Wheels spins easily in the wet!
gums 0
mines a 92 model and it def aint got traction control, it spins in first, second and third in the wet!!!! !amazed
VRmonster 1
its not traction control, no vr6 ever came with traction control, i dont even think it was an option. what your on about is edl, and if you thrash the car then it will spin, but under wet/icy conditions then you will notice it at low speeds. oh, and all vr6's came with it as the all have the teves04 or teves20 abs system.
