Will i need my arches rolling?

hi guys well after a few threads on different wheels iv finally found some i like and im getting them on sunday.....what are they?....that would be telling.....ha ha

But any way they are 7 x 17 and im going to be fitting 205/40/17 toyos and the offset of the wheels is et38 so will i need to have my arches rolled?

also how low can i go? ?!

if the offset is correct for the car you should have no need to roll the arches and a 35mm drop should be fine

i just know there are a few guys on here with 17's

if your shocks are good you can go with just springs, but if they are worn i would advise getting a whole new setup with new lowered shocks and spring

mines down about 45mm i think!!!! on 8 j 17`s only rubs if you hit big bumps on a corner!

with a 38ET you should be able to go reasonably low without major problems... you might get occasional scuffing if you go too low

hi i got 17's on mine not sure what offset they are tho, it's been lowered about 40mm on spax adjustibles and i don't get any rubbing even with five in the car!! 8)

cheers, the offset is 60mm but adapters make them et 35 (normal golf offset) they are 8j wide too and as i say dont touch the arches or liners unless i go over a really shite bit of road! hard to avoid in england! i have FK highsport coilovers too and it handles really well! i dont get any problems with people on board either, so as long as you stick to 7 or 8 j 17` rims with et 30-40 you should be ok, it took me ages to research all the ins and out it but loads of people on this site helped me out, especially the ones with RH ZW1 alloys already fitted!!

i'm on 7x17 with 205/40's my coilovers are wound waay down - about inch and a half of thread left on each one - mine did rub before the arches were rolled - now it doesn't get anywhere near even with 5 people in the car and the boot full on the way to Le Mans for the 24 hour

they are et38 . . . .

standard ones are et43 so slightly different but now the arches have been rolled they don't get anywhere near!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
