antera309 3
I've felt the same way about my engine on several occasions. An endless round of funny noises and leaks. Yet I did over 50,000 trouble-free miles in my last car (a 5-door Golf VR6) which had an identical engine, so I KNOW VR6s are reliable. The problems with my engine all turned out to be minor, and I'm sure yours will too. If you've replaced the plugs & leads and one or more cylinders still isn't getting a spark, then it's probably your coil pack that needs replacing. Tthe part is readily available second-hand and easy to swap out.
matrix 0
no i havent changed the plugs will do this weekend for some reason the oil keeps getting low but it doesent smoke, when you smell the exhaust there is no smell just hot air weird.
FishWick 21
Any engine is only as reliable as the maintenance and care it receives. Have you checked the coilpack?
