gazbrook 0
I have a dtm style scorpion stainless steel system, as systems go i think its a pretty cheap one, i liked the look of it but wasn't happy with the sound, i have taken the middle box out now and it is so loud you wouldn't believe, when i put my foot down it sounds more like a tvr than a golf, doesn't go like one unfortunately. Before it was only mildly sporty sounding but now i think it would be too loud for you,at least you know what type not to get
jamieVR6 0
I have a miltek with an oval tailpipe. Looks good, increased the power on mine & sounds incredible above 3000rpm. At normal cruising speeds it's only slightly louder than standard, it's only when you floor it that it gets louder.
simey 0
Supersprint, boxer tailpipe, de-cat sorted

binliner 0
ive got powerflow but if I did it again I'd probably get supersprint or milltek (which Ive had before on a gti and liked) they're both a bit limited on choice of tailpipes though
patrick green 0
I have a Milltek with stealth tailpipes that Im still (3 weeks!) waiting to turn up! Big Boys Toys are not the best for communicating with customers! Hopefully it will be here next week
six appeal 53
Full Supersprint with polished Stainless Rear box and letterbox tailpipe. Not too noisey/boomey compared to others I've seen/heard ie. you can use it daily and on the motorway without deafening yourself, but makes the right noise when you really boot it! dubloke 4
cat back scorpion stainless, with boxer tailpipe! excellent fit, not over boomy at low revs, quietens up further up rev range so okay on motorway too! £300 from venom , free delivery.
VRmonster 1
i got the twin exit boxer scorpion system for £415. its a realy snug fit with new rubber mounts, rattled a little on the axle with old ones, maybe cos it was lowerd a little bit too much tho. the sound is great, i get a rally style rumble when at low revs not too loud tho, then when the vr hits about 3200rpm it shuts up and the engine takes over, also the vr noise is projected through the exhaust. which makes for a right throaty growl when full throttle. i love this exhaust and recomend it highly. its a bugger to clean tho. DundeeDub 0
glad this topic came up so i was going to be getting a cat back milltek but now have been thinking differently. has anyone done a side exit exhaust??has anyone got any drawing to change (when i say change i mean manufacture new ones) the manifolds to make them better?and if i did split the exhaust (3 clyinders to each side) would i still be able to use the lambada probe or two (one in each) joined together. Guest Olly_K
I have a cat back milltek twin round. I love it cos it sounds just a lttle deep on idle, and throbbs when you floor it. If you drive sensibly you dont stand out at all. I hate exhausts that go BABABABABAABAAAAAB as you go down the road
blackburnvr6 0
i would get a milltek system sounds good not to loud but you know it is there!!!! i had a scorpion stainless steel system on before only had it on 3 WEEK far to loud be good for a 17 year old boy racer as to say it had to go more than happy with the milltek even got discount at awesome thanks to this site well thats my 2p in
eViL 0
I have a Jetex system, which was nice and refined compared to my previous Scorpion system, back pressure was improved too.The Jetex is almost unnoticeable on the move even with my supersprint de-cat, with a nice mean 'burble' on idle.
eViL 0
oooh.. and the build quality of the Jetex system knocks socks off the scorpion. It doesn't go as 'brassy'
vwmadgirl 0
I have a jetex system on my mk1 cabby, which i do like the sound of, ahhhh so many choices!!!!! Think i will have to sit on this one for abit and make my mind up, havent got the funds yet anyways, but its next in line...
mark taylor 0
anyone fitted cat replacement pipe ?
binliner 0
actually just to defend the powerflow slightly... because they're custom built they fit perfectly and you can choose any tailpipe etc you want. Mine was £330 fitted inc vat. Downside is mine is a bit too noisy at times
VR6Pete 1,455
300 quid, i love it
patrick green 0
Yay my Milltek has finally arrived! Just got 2 put it on now!
madmonkee 0
£300 for sports cat, £379 for cat back system 2.25" pipe, £75 for oval tail pipe. Custom made and fabricated to your car. Longlife/powerflow. Downside very loud at low revs, cant hear it over 3000rpm, also moves the powerbracket up. Basically lose torque low down because of the amount of gasses that are flowing no longer being restricted. Upside pulls so strong all the way to redline, instead of choking up at about 5000rpm. Mint exhaust with plenty of burbles!
