Nerih 0
Winter is fast approaching, and split rims hate road salt and so on. Does anyone have any suggestions for a set of 15's, with 5x112 and an et of 60 (since i dont want to remove my RH adaptors for no reason which at 25mm!)...any suggestions would be welcomed (obviously alloys should be cheap and cheerful ). mattverth 0
I am soon going to investigate 16 or 17 inch steel wheels from the T4/T5 transporter, just dont know what PCD they are. Any ideas? Would make good Euro look winter wheels!
Matt W 4
I think the T4/T5 are 5x112 so may just suit what Nerih wants if your gonna fit some steelies and keep the adapters!
Nerih 0
brilliant, just need to check they will fit, since et 60 fits perfectly with 25mm adaptors, i think i'll have to be a bit careful.im looking for 15's for the winter, just for comfort, drivability and so i dont shag up my lovely RH alloys. sijo 0
I think I'm gunna be sick, once saw some actual steel 5studs in brandnew condition, they went on ebay for around 100 quid, I didn't need any then, but would also like to go winter wheels for the new few months at least, plus it's a opportunity to get my santaMonica's reconditioned. Mr Anderson 1
I have some new Beetle alloys recently removed from my VR6 which would make a good set of winter wheels if anyone is interested?
Matt W 4
As your all thinking of going for winter wheels will you also consider winter tyres or some all year round tyres? Just as important as the wheels, if i remember a true winter tyre is far more effective (i.e. grip0 at temps of 6deg C or under rather than a summer tyre!
coullstar 2
Only really applicable to us Scots as Englandshire doesnt get a proper nasty winter like us!!
binliner 0
Ive got a set of brand new VW winter alloys with proper winter tyres... came with the car as it was registered in Switzerland for a while and they are a legal requirement
VRmonster 1
so what do vw winter wheels and tyres look like? and what size?
Matt W 4
They are 15" and they look similar to the Corrado steelies, at least mine do any way! No pics at the moment though but will be changing in a couple of weeks to winter wheels (mode)
