Craig 0
I currently have a Pipercross style induction kit that I took off my Rover 800 Vitesse. It makes my VR6 sound like a V8 - seriously! It has shocked just about everyone that has heard it. That said, I do have a BMC CDA en route to me and will let you know what I think once I've had chance to plug 'n play! matth76 1
Does the pipercross have any kind of heat shielding or container housing? Because the only thing you need to ensure is that the induction cone filter is shielded from the engine bay heat otherwise you will draw hot air into the engine and reduce performance. Let us know how you get on. AMD said an induction kit may affect the MAF sensor (air fuel sensor).
Silver VR6 0
Got the pipercross ind kit fitted today and must say that im impressed... gives an amazing sound and seems to give slighty more power low down..(maybe my right foot is heavier today, who knows!!) The sound at high revs is great too! Thanks for the advice Matth76 on the heat shield.. will def get something sorted soon... Anyone know of any suppliers that can sort an ind kit heat shield? Cheers for all the advice everyone. Much appreciated. Dan
craggsy 91
Some one on CGTI made one out of a old computer case....looked quite good
matrix 0
so u guys r saying the bmc isnt as loud as the pipercross.
craggsy 91
Nope....iv'e had both and piperx is loud but not as responsive on throttle as BMC.....unless you can put a shroud round it and direct cold air on to it. As BMC doesn't suffer from warm air intake
kil2002 1
You can make a heat shield your self, go to a hardware store and get a sheet of aluminium, the ones that go behind gas heaters.all you have to do is measure it out cut it, then seal it with some glue.the type that seals body kits. it seals good and is pretty easy to remove too. will only cost you about a fiver and works excellent, my m8 made one for his audi a3.
