matth76 1
E46 M3's are easily taken care of with a charged VR......trust me' date=' i know![/quote']What age is an E46 M3... I know there is the brand new shape which has been around for 2 or 3 years. Is an E46 the shape before the latest one?
aad 0
e46 is the latest shape old one e36 both as quick as each other.maybe couple of car lenghths.
Nerih 0
never raced an m3 before, too scared, arent they really super fast? i dont even think 300bhp could fend them off?
mightyvr6 0
They're not that fast. Nerih, you've got more power per tonne than an M3.
Nerih 0
mighty is your v1 very noisey?
aad 0
does yours hit rev limiter at 6500 or has it been raised
aad 0
Thing Is Guys..It's not how fast your car is..It's how late you brake !lol lol
simonvr6 0
all m3's can be minced if your not afraid of using all of the revs and torque a 6 has to offer and holding the gears and expect to spend
mightyvr6 0
mighty is your v1 very noisey?Yes, it's quite noisy at idle but quietens down when the car is revved.
TVR6 0
That's very doubtful simonvr6, a standard VR6, a modded one short of an SC or a turbo will not mince an M3. Not the new one not the old one and not the standard non evo version either. The M3 is a super strong 6 with greater capacity and engineering. That's not to put the VR6 down (which I own and love) but they are two very different beasts and each built to a specification and cost. Now, a poor driver behind the wheel of an M3 will surely get minced by a savvy VR6 driver. Same goes for any car
Nerih 0
yeah my mum gets minced by every car in the xkr, lol....doesnt mean she's a bad driver, just means she doesnt want to race.q
TVR6 0
An XKR is one of those cars that says 'I can if I want to, when I want to...' I sometimes just enjoy driving along slowly and taking in the scenery.

simonvr6 0
i dont seem to have any trouble in my 24v mk2. whether at the traffic light grand prix, round town or on the m way.i dont get bullied and i can go sideways round bends just like mr m3. i dont play with my 6 i try to kill it. Nerih 0
4.2litre supercharged, its got the R pack too, which meants bbs detroits and loads of sweet extras, but the xkr's charger is much nicer than mine, im getting a bit annoyed with the noise, which seems to be getting louder now....im thinking i might have to get rid of it. mightyvr6 0
You could try slackening the belt so it doesn't sing so much.
Nerih 0
i'll try that, thanks m8. what kind of deflection should you have in mm?
mightyvr6 0
I'm not sure how much deflection but you don't have to have the belt that tight because the dual idler pulley puts plenty of wrap around the s/c pulley.

J5KE F 0
I know what you mean nerih! when i can hear it above my exhaust like stood at lights itsa bit like a badlywired amp! but to be honest, you'll miss it! mines having more work done and it's only been gone 2 weeks! Its a noise that is only known by people that are fanatical about vrs!
Nerih 0
its fine when you are in milton keynes, but when you're driving in central london, in particular when noel gallagher lives opposite you and you park your car on a street full of porches and classy cars that start ever so quietly in the heart of the west end :/, it just becomes a nuisance, regardless of how 'cool' it is. I have to park my car in Bloomsberry Square underground car park becuase it is just TOO noisey here.XKR's are for old people becuase most jaguar drivers are old, we have two and both are my parents, who are obviously over 45/55, last year we had a carrera 4 s until leaving it on the road became stupid becuase of changes to resdents parking policies, you are only allowed 1 car per person now, on the scheme, so even if i got a micra and saved the vr6 for proper days out...it would be impossible.btw our xkr is brilliant, no point comparing it with vw's even show quality ones...anyone gonna come visit me in london....no? congestion charging is so expensive heh...mkdean im coming up to mk on wednesday/thursday.anyways its going to stealth, and depending on the outcome, i maybe selling it.
