i had my emmisions done today and the min is mean to be 0.20 and mine was 1.12 see the problem and ov wouldnt go through and when reving it you could smell the fuel and some smoke to go with it any ideas how to fix this. !sad

has it been da-catted? I had this prob at MOT time and the tester said it was due to the car being removed but I didnt have any smoke or smell of fuel

mine scrapes through emmisions test with decat

could be a faulty cat or lambda probe, my cat was knackered and the smell of fuel was very apparant.

Could also be the maf. My car ran 3 times too rich when the maf was on it's way out.

na its not decated whats the maf the bit with the plug near the air filter would this explian my low mpg.

any other ideas if is not that there expensive should this show up on the vag-com if i take it to some were to get checked.

A bad lambda sensor would cause poor mpg. A bad maf causes lumpy running and poor economy if the ecu goes into limp mode

it is a bit lumpy but i no my leads are f..cked as well though but mpg is max 20.0 an to day it stunk of fuel is that the black thing with the plug by the filter then.

Yes that's the maf. Try plugging into vag-com

I got 12 mpg going up Hartside Pass in Cumbria. But that was properly caining it, up a steep hill with loveley hairpins.

14 doesn't sound too good. Take it to a VW dealer if you don't know anyone with a vag com.

ye there got to be somthing wrong i no the co2 level is well high 1.12 its max is meant to be 0.20 so it like 5times over going to change the lamba 2morrow see how that is then also i no the leads have had it waiting for them to be delivered maybe do it all atogether then get it rechecked.
