Craig 0
I understand the Golf VR6 came with traction control as standard, so am assuming the same applies to Ventos. Exactly what kind of traction control, though? Is it just a LSD?Secondly, I need some information about the gearbox fitted to automatic VR6 VeeDubs. Is it different to the auto boxes fitted to, say, the Vento 2.0 GL? What I really need to know is which gear on my auto box gives the closest to a 1:1 ratio, for rolling road purposes.Ta muchly. Craig 0
Thanks John,What is EDL, please, Pete?
Craig 0
Ah, EDL is electronic diff lock.I found a thread on our very own forum, courtesy of Google. It is here: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?29177There seems to be some uncertainty about this one. I need to know what (if any) traction control system is fitted. I understand some systems can cause problems on a rolling road.Hmm ... what to do ...
VR6Pete 1,455
My car has been on the rollers more times than I've had chips. I think that all VR's came with EDL.Not had any problems with it on the rollers though, naturally because the back wheels are not spinning (2WD rollers) you will get the ABS light coming on, which normally will get cleared by the RR operator) As for the the efficency of EDL, cant say ive ever known it to do anything... Seademon 0
When I put my car on the rollers I have to unplug the ABS unit because as the back wheels arent turning it wont let you acelerate - basically the abs light comes on - sounds like power to 3 of the cylinders has been cut etc. My cars a 97/P if that of any relevance
VR6Pete 1,455
Mine is on a R 97.... didnt have to unplug the ABS unit on mine... where is your unit located seademon?Pete
matth76 1
My car which is a 97 P (it's an ODB2) has no form of traction control. Not sure if the Highline has it though.

VR6Pete 1,455
on the earlier VR's it's under the rear seat. on later ones it's located directly under the ABS pump.
