Toby 0
I sold it yesterday, was deciding for a while about whether to or not, but in the end I was hardly ever using it so thought it should go. Still, I've still got the MK5 GTI so that'll make up for it a bit!
six appeal 53
Blimey, thats a shock mate, thats one of my favourite Mk2's!Has someone in the club/scene got it? How much did you let it go for in the end?Have heard great things about the Mk5 and am seriosuly tempted by one myself to be honest if I get a good offer on the VR!Simon. Toby 0
well the guy who bought it had wanted to buy it when I got it last year! Don't think he's a member of this club, but he's into the vw scene I think. Got

Toby 0
yes it was indeed, thanks. Trouble is it was just sitting in the garage week to week and I wasn't really using it for what it was intended - to be driven!
badboyV6 4
sham its gone Toby- is a beautiful mk2, but as you say its hard to justify if its not being used much.
anorak 0
The depreciation proof car eh Toby? (If you don't count maintenance - and who does apart from the wife!)I nearly offered to buy it back off you! Then remembered / was reminded that I probably used it less than you did.Sure it'll be cherished by its new keeper though.(I need to stop posting on this forum, perhaps start up an exVR6OC?) Toby 0
ha ha, not a bad idea! So what you going for instead of your MK3 then - any decisions?
anorak 0
I've got a toy 205 GTi in the garage now for trackdays and clearing the cobwebs at weekends. It's got the 160bhp Mi16 engine conversion, almost no suspension, completely stripped interior with roll cage and bucket seats and a set of spare racing slicks so I can go Ferrari baiting! (Well that's the plan ha ha).Still haven't decided how to replace the Golf as a daily car, anything with less than 250bhp feels a bit lame!Tempted by 406 Coupes and Alfa GTVs at the moment - although that could change by tomorrow! Toby 0
the 205 sounds excellent - I've been reading PPC magazine quite a lot recently and they're building a 205 track car too. I was driving a mate's Alfa GTV at the weekend - fantastic engine note from the 3.0 V6 - that could be addictive!
