matth76 1
Hi Does anyone have a deep front spoiler? I believe VW do them - how much do they charge to supply and fit it approximately? Is it actually lower at the front with one fitted than the standard front spoiler? And is "deep front spoiler" the official name of it? (if I ask VW they may think I'm meaning a standard front spoiler - therefore does it have a model number or similar so they'll know I mean the "bigger" front spoiler?) Does anyone have a signature pic or any pics of a car with the vw deep front spoiler fitted?CheersMatt

VR6Pete 1,455
I paid 28 quid a strip for my deep splitter from VW. 2 minute job to fit it yourself.
matth76 1
I paid 28 quid a strip for my deep splitter from VW. 2 minute job to fit it yourself. That's not a bad price. I assume it completely replaces the standard plastic strip at the front. Is the standard one ease to get off - does it un-clip or are there a couple of bolts to undo at the back somewhere? Does the new deep splitter fit on exactly the same as the standard one using the same bolts? When I speak to VW do I call it a "deep splitter" or are there several different sorts of front spoilers that VW do for the VR6? Also do you find the deep splitter is slightly lower to the ground than the standard one or about the same? Cheers

francisjonno 2
Front spoiler just clips on but its a bit of a nightmare to take off (had to take mine off last night so it can get on the ramps for its MOT today!)On some VR6's there's a piece of plastic that stops spray getting on the alternator belt and this has a trim screw (on RH side of car) that attaches to the original spoiler, so this will have to be undone to get the spoiler off (and possibly modified if you get a non-OE new spoiler).Otherwise its a case of pulling the spoiler off from the side first, mine was pretty stubborn and had to use a srewdriver to push the clips down from behind the bumper.Deep spoiler is generally known as a VR6 although only originally fitted to the earlier VR6's and some v early GTI's, wherever you buy one from ask for a VR6 spoiler and they'll know what you're after - think i paid
