silverline 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 the gearbox on mine was all oily and when i took the engine out and removed the gearbox i found the crankshaft seal was leaking.the sumps can leak as i think they are only sealed with silicone, dont think theres an actual gasket. so you could try dropping the sump and resealing it all. jayvwvr6 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 did my sump gasket a little while back,yes it is a cork gasketand also the oil cooler seal at the front of the engine are prone to leaking i did that as well oil runs down from there on to the sump giving the impresion the sump gasket is leaking.
