The car you wish you never sold!

Recommended Posts

So i had me 8v gti, mk2. loved that car, first real car with any balls. :)

Then came the 16v, again in the shape of a 2 golf. (You had to drive it to get the power, but then it went! power band on the mk2, 16v, about 3500-4000, if i remeber correctly.)

And then came the offer of a 2.0l, 16v unit from TSR, which i readilly snaped up, and droped in to the mk2. 8)

Coupled with a TSR4-1 manifold and a full sebring exhust, allthough loud, was an awesome drive. Left the VR on the start line when i went against it :| . Then the top end of the VR caught, and i nailed the bastard 8) .

Still wish i never sold it tho :@

Not so much sold but got crashed into, (its still on the drive) was my Fiesta RS1800.....it was in mint condition and turned heads no matter where I went.....It was the first car i'd owned that meant anything to me and I was sooo sad when it got smashed.

My first and first project car. Mk3 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia, 3 door. Black with horrible chrome, windup windows, 4 x 4 suspension, light grey interior, light grey dashboard.

Which became a true monster (for its time). 1905cc Specialized Engines Stage 2 engine, close ratio box with LSD, 90bhp nitrous shot, stainless zorst with 4" recessed tailpipe, MC Rallying Genini body kit (suntle cossy type kit without the whale tail), 16" deep dish rims, dechromed, orange peel black, Complete Mk4 RS Recaro interior and electrics (wondows, sunroof, central locking), Koni adjustable suspension, tarox braking system, power steering, a bootful of ICE and probably a whole host of other things I've long forgotten about.

It was omne off and unique in its design. It was debadged and looked the nuts too, nothing like the a Chav trolley. It was fast, brash, noisy, brutal and above all fun. Sold it to my sister minus the NOS and she managed to send it to an early grave. I do miss that car :( It saw plenty of back seat action ;)

My first mk 16vin royal blue which had everthing done to it by me.... bodywork wasnt the best but engine and chassis were top notch...

and then my first '96 VR in indian red which i had to sell as it was costing me to much to run - and a bigger kick in the teeth was that i had spent around a grand on it on mods in 3 months... had it for 6 months in total and really gutted i had to sell- evertime i saw a VR id think of my one...

I had an absolute Mint Helious Blue MkII Gti 8v on a F plate a few years back.

It was in concours condition then some wanker broke into it and I sold it because of that !sad.

I hated the fact that some pikey gyppo had been rummiging about in it all to get a cheapy pioneer head unit! Worth about £50 on the black market.

They did over a grands worth of damage to the car getting it! ~:(
