FishWick 21 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Share Posted December 1, 2005 Depends how old the current 2.8 VR6 is because if it's a dizzy one, you'll need the looms etc off the 2.9 car (corrado I assume?) for the coilpack and cam sensor etc. You'll also need the 2.9 ECU (AG) if that's the case. Early ones (pre-1993 I think) have a distributor, later ones have a coilpack, same as the OBD1 Golf VR6.If your current 2.8 engine and the 2.9 you're putting in are both OBD1 coilpack type, all you need to swap is the ECU and the engine itself. You can use your existing wiring loom.If going from a 2.8 coilpack to 2.9 distributor, you need to swap in the the engine wiring loom from the donor car. Link to post Share on other sites
