Col_M 0
cheers, there is a distinct lack of info regarding this, i've seen hearsay (not the manufactured band thankfully) but no concrete or a definitive source.
FishWick 21
For a UK VR, I have the ratios as down as:-1st - 3.782nd - 2.123rd - 1.464th - 1.035th - 0.84FD - 3.39The ratios are the same for 2.8 and 2.9 engines.VW did play about the with ratios a fair bit so it's hard to say 100%. Best thing to do is get the 3 digits that suffix the '02A' stamp on the bell housing and the dealer should be able to tell you the ratios, or Vince at Stealth will know for sure. Col_M 0
Thanks Kev, I also asked the question on ClubGTI and got a slightly different answer again.1st 3.300 2nd 1.944 3rd 1.308 4th 1.034 5th 0.838 FD 3.389I think like you say the best bet is to find the 3 digit code and ask someone who can tell me, i'll probably ask Vince at Stealth on the 18th. I don't need to know right now anyway, it's for a uni project after xmas, i'll be calculating the theoretical 0-60mph acceleration of my VR in Matlab Simulink If anyone's interested this is similar to what i'll be doing...http://www.tech.plym.ac.uk/sme/mech331/fuel4.htmThat is for the lecturer's porsche and doesn't include pressure losses in the intake and gear changes.
