I tried cleaning the throttle body, but no good, feels as though its a badly adjusted fuel overrun cut off but my obd2 doesnt have one that I can find. Driving me mad can anyone help? matth76 1 Posted December 10, 2005 Report Share Posted December 10, 2005 Could be the plugs (I had a similar problem - turned out Caffyns had not tightened ALL size of my plugs - once fully tightened the problem disappeared - I'm never taking it back to the main dealers!) Could also be your HT leads and their connections to your coilpack or distributor (if you have an early golf). Link to post Share on other sites

Tony_Pedwell 0 Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Share Posted December 17, 2005 Strange it is, because it only does the stuttering thing when its warm, fine when its cold. Does it when you throttle off then on again more noticeable in the lower gears. Feels like a badly adjusted fuel shut off valve. purple highline monster 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Share Posted December 27, 2005 my vr has got a slight stutter every now and then aswell, it happens when you lift off then re accelerate too, just a momentary loss of power and then its fine, again only happens when its hot, it only does it rarely, i just thought it was an air mass sensor blip or me being to brutal on the throttle waiting for the ecu to catch up!! but it does sound like the same issue you have just not as bad, yet! Brianvr 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Share Posted December 27, 2005 had the same or similer fault changed the plugs and checked all the leads and leads all ok took car out now all ok fault gone .seemed as my plugs were fooked.also looked at the coilpack and seemed oki would change the plugs first and go from there. bazz780 0 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Share Posted December 27, 2005 my mre g vr did that, i took the coilpack off and carefully examined it, there were hairline cracks present which i covered with clear nail varnish - worked a treat for a while which indicated a new coil pack to be bought, Link to post Share on other sites

So far I have asked loads of people and prodded it about, cleaning the throttle body did seem to lessen it a bit. TB bloody filthy and just over 900 miles from a main agent service. purple highline monster 0 Posted December 31, 2005 Report Share Posted December 31, 2005 i dont think the fault is plugs on my car, mine are only 2000 miles old and are genuine vw vr6 plugs! i suppose it could be a HT lead breaking down every now and then under load? i have never changed them so could be? or as suggested a small crack in coil pack which gets more noticable when hot and arcs a bit when you rev hard at low speed? its only a minor blip when mine does it but it is deffinately acceleration/load related, it seems to happen if its gonna when slowing to a roundabout then putting it under load, it dont feel like fuel, i think it would be more obvious at higher speeds as i have been upto 70 a couple of times i will replace the leads soon anyway maybe that will cure it? to be honest it hasnt happened that regularly so its an odd one! :| Link to post Share on other sites
