Hoppa 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 Just had the garage replacing my head gasket call, to let me know that the head is heavily pitted and that they were not 100% sure skimming it would solve the problem, now they have'nt had there engineering guy look at it yet, but the guy i spoke to said VR6 heads don't look like there is a lot of tolerance in skimming the due to the fact they have no recess for the valves/piston? (at least i think thats what he said). As you can tell i'm no mechanic, can someone shed some light on the process? Is there much adjustment on them? recon head a better option?
