Just had the garage replacing my head gasket call, to let me know that the head is heavily pitted and that they were not 100% sure skimming it would solve the problem, now they have'nt had there engineering guy look at it yet, but the guy i spoke to said VR6 heads don't look like there is a lot of tolerance in skimming the due to the fact they have no recess for the valves/piston? (at least i think thats what he said). As you can tell i'm no mechanic, can someone shed some light on the process? Is there much adjustment on them? recon head a better option? :((
