fabio_vr6 0
coolant temp one could cause running problems?air mass meter would deffo cause running problems .and road speed sensor could ither be the one in the gearbox or one of the abs sensors
mightyvr6 0
The coolant temp sensor (G62) (the blue one in the thermostat housing) affects fueling. If this bit isn't working you'll get lumpy running because of overfuelling. It's a fairly cheap part so is definitely worth changing. Check the wiring first though.A faulty airflow meter (G70) will cause poor running, bad economy and lack of power. Its an expensive part -

silverline 0
mighty its the engine speed sensor that always comes up not the vehicle speed sensor. yeah cos i ve recently changed both the hall sensor and the engine speed sensor so i do hope it aint 1 of them playing up!cheers for your response guys. the car does idle rough but when driving its fine. its the fact that the air mass meter fault reads as short to earth so how the heck am i going to find where that fault is? mightyvr6 0
I reckon the maf is dead. I've had the short-earth fault code on my maf and it was knackered.

purple highline monster 0
go to ford for the maf sensor, i think its the same as the galaxy vr6 one??? if it is will be cheaper from ford, dont take it for read a new part wherever it comes from will cure this though, sometimes the new parts are dud from factory if the box has been bumped around, so if its still iffy with a new one take it back and get another, second hand is risky imo
silverline 0
i strongly agree monster.i was thinking about getting my old 1 tested but thats hassle. spoke to GSF today and they will supply an air mass meter for the later VR, 97-98 i think they said but they dont supply the older ones. whats the difference?
