francisjonno 2
I've done this too - lasts well and looks goodMake sure you Smoothrite, like Nick, rather than traditional hammerite, or you'll end up with an unusual paint finish - unless that's what you're after
IbiVR 0
Yup, dont use the "special" caliper paint. Only thing special about it is it costs twice as much as it should do. Any high temp paint is fine.
FishWick 21
The only thing I find with smoothrite is it chips off too easily when changing pads, but being enamel based, it's fine with heat and won't crack.Ideally you want a PTFE based cally paint, which is more flexible and is resistant to oil and all other harsh fluids, but it's expensive! SankysVR6 1
Don't laugh But when i painted my calipers black i found some Wicks Exterior paint in the shed :! . I thoght i'll just try it to see what the look would be like, before i went out bought some proper stuff. This what put on prior going to the Inters 05. And guess what they still black a glossy today. !amazed Just make sure you give the calipers a good clean before applying an paint.Remember Preparation, Preparation and Preparation
