mightyvr6 0
Yes there are a few guys on here inc. myself with charged vrs.Very good to drive. Same power delivery as a stock engine but with lot more midrange and high revs power.I paid £1000 for my kit second-hand but new, your looking at £2000+No problems installing it. Very straight forward. They seem very reliable too. I've done 30,000+ miles with no issues relating to the charger or engine. Go for it!
purple highline monster 0
prior to all the nonsense with ULTIMATE TUNE (you must have seen the supercharger thread?) i was hoping to charge my vr too, now i am gonna wait untill a reliable decent priced charge supplier comes along! seems like it really makes a vr6 once its fitted!! Petesvw 0
Yep me too, gives me plenty of time to save! lol
antera309 3
As soon as all of the people that paid Ultimatetune are refunded, we can sort out another group buy with NS Racing, on the VF-E Stage 2 kit (similar to C2 stage 1). A few people on the-corrado .net forum did a group buy with them last year and are all happy as far as I know!
apd 0
it REALLY does transform a vr-power/torque,but the down side is spending money on brakes, suspension, coilovers.fuel consumption is a factor aswell:20ish mpg when enthusiastic/ uptu 35 when not.you earns your money and spends it on what YOU want! wayne_1@tiscali.co.uk 27
just spoke to raj at ns racing and hes not sure wether he wants to do a group buy hes having a think about it could be a good news or bad news
seadog 0
i was plannin on gettin my vr charged aswell this year due to readin all abotu them on here!! defo seems to b the way forward.but the sensible side of me has decided to spend the charger fund on the drivetrain, atb diff, different ratios and uprated clutch, after all what use is a charged vr wi a stripped box n buggered clutch!! i no the standard box n clutch can withstand the power and torque but better safe than sorry i reckon
Eat this 2
how much for ur lower final drive and lsd?
matth76 1
A lot I bet. I was told by a vr specialist that I couldn't just go for a final drive. I would need 'all' different gears too. And then you need a diff. They said I couldn't just have a shorter ratio final drive which was a pity. They reckoned..with the diff and all different gears upwards of 2.5k !! So I gave the 3.68 final drive a miss Be nice to have it though.
Eat this 2
i was sure u could
matth76 1
I thought so too. I'm having my gearbox out soon so I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to have a shorter final drive fitted at the same time (for an extra £200). But apparently you need all the other gears changed - can't just have the final drive on its own apparently. Bit of a pity.
apd 0
a cheaper way round the uprated drivetrain would be a standard box mated to uprated clutch[recommend helix]with racelogic t/c.vince is the man to chat to.
seadog 0
how much for ur lower final drive and lsd?i haven`t really looked into the ratios as of yet but i was under the impression u could change the final drive without alterin the other ratios? i`m also pretty sure its the final drive from a g60 thats used more often than not (maybe wrong tho)i just got a reply back from quaife as was lookin to buy 1 of there atb diffs, it costs £525-vat n delivery. i had read on here somewhere that it was best change the pins to bolts as there stronger n less likely to sheer! quaife can also supple the bolts for £92i can forward there email onto an1 if they want? matth76 1
If only a shorter final drive is fitted would this alter the whole gear box or just the 'final' fifth gear?If it was just a case of fitting a final drive (second hand from a G60 - which is as you say shorter at 3.68) then that would be brilliant - if it can be done. The garage I spoke to didn't think so.The Phirm are doing my gearbox removal so it's in very good hands. I would just love to take this opportunity to improve the gears in any way. Can anyone confirm if all the other gears need changing or can I 'just' pay an extra 200 and have a shorter final drive fitted or will my gearbox be unusable?Cheers
Petesvw 0
Not to diss nsracing, but if they don't wanna do a group buy, Go elseware. If i remember rightly C2 say they have been contacted by various uk companys regarding import. May not be happening just yet, but it may be soon, just a thought, but may be worth seeing what happens! wayne_1@tiscali.co.uk 27
its not that he dosent want to do a group buy but he offered this last year and instead every body went with u,tune instead, so he just needs to see if there is definetly enough interest this time round to make it worth his while
