moleman 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Report Share Posted January 13, 2006 hi also have another probthe other day my collant level light came on so i topped it up then again today, i thought the worst that head gasket had given up, but took it to my local vw garage and they said that the header tank had split, is this a common thing? i've ordered one from a breaker just seemed weird to me thats all?, Link to post Share on other sites

jb9999 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Share Posted January 23, 2006 Think you would be better off putting a new header tank on than a second hand one. they are not expensive, I've just put a new one on mine. jb9999 0 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Share Posted January 24, 2006 VW didn't have one in stock and would have to transfer it from another dealer.Europarts had one and Iwas desperate as coolant was spewing out all over!Should get six month out of this one before it explodes.
