Pete.sVR6 0
Hi allI want to throw this out, and see what comes back? Has anybody heard any bad things about this type of oil?, I was going to start using it, (currently use Shell Helix) but I have heard (third hand admittedly) that it can cause problems with the valve stem oil seals &| I am expecting that this is probably complete B*ll"$&S but interested to hear your thoughts?. VR6Steve 0
The dealership i used to work at, had the oil pumps in the workshop installed by Castrol. They even came in and gave us training on the different types.
yeeha 0
Im am seriously tempted to use magnatec oil, I can hear the metal on metal when I start my car in the morning and cringe at the sound, magnatec would hopefully reduce the damage being caused... bad reports put me off though - bit of a dilema!!! marco 0
I've used magnatec for a while now with no ill effecdts !!I used to work in a Jaguar / Aston Martin dealer and we used it on all cars that came in there !!
andy 0
Myy stealership uses Magnatec on new cars and up to a certain milage. On older cars they use the Synta Semi synthetic, which is what I use. At the end of the day the Synta stuff meets and exceeds all the VW standards for oil, good enough for me. The important thing is to change it as specified.
wilko-vr6 0
i'd use magnatec every time mate!my local vag dealer uses syntra in there servicing yet when you talk to the mechanics there, most of them use magnatec.remember though, magnatec will cost you a lot more than syntra semi, which is possibly why most of us stick to using syntra.
