bazz780 0
Hey guys, i have recently noticed, when approaching a traffic light and pressing the brake pedal after a few seconds of gradually slowing down i hear a springy noise coming from the middle/rear of the car that lasts a few seconds, its almost like a cable being pulled tight and vibrating.car brakes well and had the brake fluid serviced last week as well. once i set off after stopping completely after a very short distance the springy noise re-appears then goes away all back to normal again.....can someone tell me what on earth is going on?1500 pounds later i am still getting problems and am not really a happy bunny at the moment lol

kilokilla 0
sounds bizarre mate but you could try checking the heat shield that sits above the exhaust isnt coming a bit loose as this makes a noise a bit like what you are saying im working on a couple at mo so i will check underneath and see if i can see anything else that might cause this sort of prob ,are your engine mounts good cos im thinking maybe its something to do with a bit of engine movement under breaking . kilokilla 0
Oh i just thought try checkin dust shields behind brakes if 1 of these is a bit loose or close to brakes it could cause this sort of noise although not from area you are describing but some noises can be decieving as to where they are coming from. Guest speed-demon
It could be 1 of many things but more than likely its a faulty sensor which is giving off a signal that the car is skidding which is causing the abs to engage. This will caus the crunchin sensation as the brakes rnt locking, they r in abs mode bouncing off the disc so u still have control...it could also be a bust ring gear end???
