MonkeyJug 0
i'm about to buy a second hand kit that has previously been on a vr6, but is there a way i can tell that it is definitely designed for the vr6 and not just a bog standard mk3 golf?i know that when ordering online, there are 4 different types of highsport kit depending on the axle load, or whether it is vr6 or syncrho...is there a serial number emobossed on the kit so i can tell if it is defo for a vr6?thanks guys... purple highline monster 0
mine has got "fkvw55" on the venom reciept, cant remember any numbers on the shocks though, i doubt any one with a standard golf would run coilovers? most 16v parts are the same as vr6 for stuff like that, same as a golf Rallye
Petesvw 0
Wasn't the rallye on a different chassis to the standard mk2 nick!
purple highline monster 0
only the floor pan, centre turret, and the boot area! to accomodate the rear drive shafts and diff! (its a very modified mk2 floor! the corrado used a passat floor pan but dont tell a Corrado owner that! same as 02a the gearbox! just a modded passat one! in all the G60`s) the H&R coilover kit i had on it was to fit a VR6 MK3 aswell!!! should of taken it off! £800 that cost me! ~ oh well
MonkeyJug 0
so there is no way of telling without the original receipt?what if it is not the vr6 specific kit and just the ordinary mk3? surely this will be dangerous, especially if there is no way to tell the difference? purple highline monster 0
depends where it came from, some companys give the products different numbers, who you getting it off? can you see the car?
thegoth 5
For highsports fk55s are only for the VR6, 16vers use fk50s.The ones I got b4 christmas did have a number on the springs. But I doubt it would stay readable for long after the springs are fitted, and unfortuantly I can't remember what the number was!TG
