How to remove light scratches - which products to use?

Recommended Posts

Hi I have some scratches which are very light but spread over a large area and on different areas of the car. I suspect they have come from a bit of grit in the sponge or chamois when the car was washed.

I'm going to give T-cut a go but in my experience T-cut doesn't seem to do anything on my VR with its lacquered paint work. I've thought about paint compound but (although being much harsher than T-cut) I am pretty sure it won't make any head way on lacquered paint either.

Does anyone know some good cheap reliable scratch repair companies in Sussex area that you have used and were very impressed with the end result and value for money?

Thanks for any help.

Anyone? Or can anyone recommend any products to try that won't damage my paint work, but work really well to remove scratches..as I'd rather try it myself that pay someone to do it? However I need to know which product to try that will likely work, and which products I should definitely avoid.

Cheers

Matt

Yea G3 is good mate, and T-cut do a sctrach remover in a red tube for about a fiver from halfords. Its always an idea to give the area you have treated with the scratch remover a quick coat of wax or polish afterwards to keep the paint nice and shiny :)

I caught my car once on a rose bush and left a 30" scratch down the front wing & door %-6 the paint wasnt broke but i thought it was a body shop job. On another forum someone sugested i use Zimol polish as it had worked for him. I brought it from halfrauds and it cost about £15, this stuff was brilliant it totaly removed the scratch & the other light surface marks on the car and left the paintwork like glass, its so easy to use no elbow greese at all , it was worth the £15 just to smell it :D ive never smelt a car cleaning product like it. Imo the best polish on the market and ive been through them all. :)
