I have the same query as petesvw. My car has recently been resprayed and, although the new paint is very shiny, it is not perfectly flat - there are lumps and bumps in the finish.

The article says that clay is used to remove surface containants, but the lumps I've got are irregularities in the surface of the lacquer. Contaminants have not had a chance to build up yet.

So is it worth me using clay, or should I go straight to polish?
