to replace front bearings you need a press to press bearings in and out of hub carrier also you need a special puller to remove part of old bearing from hub itself as half of bearing always sticks to hub unless you have these tools dont even attempt it mate but if you do start by removing wheel then loosen driveshaft nut then disconnect abs cables and brake pad sensor cables from behind hub then unbolt brake pad carrier then unbolt tca (steering ball joint nut)then i find it easier to disconnect the 3 bolts that hold bottom ball joint into wishbone located under wishbone then undo the 2 bolts that hold top of hub carrier to suspension leg then pull hub carrier off then you need to press hub out of carrier and then press bearing out then you need to remove half of old bearing from hub there is a special puller for this job you can grind them off but i really dont advise this as it generally causes damage to hub once all this is done you can then press new bearing into hub carrier and then press hub into new bearing then put all back together in opposite order but you will also need to get wheels realigned as removing hub carrier knocks your wheel camber out and it will need resetting.

i would av thought if the tie rod keeps rotating its knackered....plz correct me if im wrong.....front bearings can be done using a punch or right sized socket...but a press is much easier and less messy/painfull lol.

I'm not sure you'd do a front without a press, they're big bearings. I wouldn't attempt it with a socket/vice personally, you can do the backs like that but not the fronts imo.

aka did you have any probs getting driveshaft out of housing also where did you get the bearing pressed at. also did you have any probs with tie rod thread keep turning making it akward to undo the nut.

Didn't have any trouble with anything at all and that was on a 93 car thats done 130,000 miles, just went round some local garages and it was basically on who could get it done the fastest as i needed it on that day, most were leave it with us and come back tom till i found one saying give us 15 to 20 mins and it'll be done :)
