petervr6 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Share Posted February 22, 2006 ok i started my car yest and it was sputtering a bit so a gave it a rev and there was a lot of blue smoke which stunk of fuel any ideas why this has happened is it normal which i dout could it be my leads as they are nackered which i know. jaysVR6 2 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Share Posted February 22, 2006 If your VR was cold it will have been on choke and will be over fueling. (spluttering could be damp leads. Was it a damp morning?) Nothing to worry about if was a mixture of black/grey-ish sootie smoke.On the other hand it could be valve stem oil seals as they will leak oil when cold and on the overrun if they are worn. Look for the dredded blue smoke and smell of oil not fuel. Link to post Share on other sites
