delfinis38 0
Hi guys.. Can anybody offer me any advice on a exhaust for corrado VR6. I have a 1996 N plate with 38K on the clock. The cars exhaust is standard at present but I will need a new one very soon. No problems with the cat or the rear box just the joints on the mid section look like they are on the way out.I'm looking either for a replacment box or a full S/S system, but want to keep the original oval tailpipe shape and I don't want anything too noisy so i sound like a kevin going down the road.any suggestion what others have done to there VR6 would be great.Cheers...... katconcarne 0
i like my jetex cat back (ehem!) system, it's not noisy unless given some grief, but it's 2.5" so i noticed a slight performance increase. as long as you go for an exhaust with the appropriate silencer boxes, you shouldn't sound like a charver going down the road!keeping it stealth, Kat
delfinis38 0
Thanks for the responce cat. I have only quickly looked on the web at a Miltek exhaust. will look into a jetex. where's the best place to get a good deal on an exhaust. don't mind fiting it myself. Are all exhaust esentially the same, so you cant go too far wrong with what you buy.
jb9999 0
Have you tried TSR Performance? They stock quite a few different makes, milltek, magnex, supersprint etc. or C&R Enterprises.
57ORM 0
I've been thinking about going to powerflow exhaust to replicate the corrado exhust tip to keep it looking standard but increasing the flow including a CAT replacment pipe
katconcarne 0
powerflow aren't too good i've seen many with kinks in... tends to decrease performance!raceland do a good cat replacement pipe
mk3anni 0
Powerflow are terrible. I had a Jetex on my old Gti, had no complaints, and I have a miltek on my VR, which I like. Its subtle until you boot it.Aslong as you go for a quality make you can't really go too far wrong I don't think

According to Vince @ Stealth, the Supersprint system is the best one for fit & the sound is also sensible; he's doing mine in a couple of weeks !lol . The Miltek has a terrible reputation for fit on the Corrado, although I've got one on my Golf VR6 & it's been faultless for 4 years now.For an exhastive (no pun intended!) discussion of exhausts on the Corrado, take a look here the-corrado.net exhaust thread
RIX 0
hartmann is the best fit and its 70mm,so its very big compared to supersprint and others

I've used SS for years, they're the best by miles. Beautiful bassy rumble at low rpms and stock silent past 2500rpm. Best of both worlds. The standard Rado VR6 exhaust is also excellent, made by Liestritz of Germany and top quality and flows tonnes. The baffles easily flow the 8psi my charger is chucking through it. It's only downside is weight. It weighs a tonne, so much so the hanger on the big suitcase centre box often breaks off.Milltek exhausts for the Rado are utter junk. Had one for 2 weeks and took it off because it fitted badly - and I've been to the factory to point out the design flaws to them - and had a horrendous boom at 3000rpm when hot. It's not good stainless at all.The SuperSprint one is a hybrid, stainless pipework and mild steel silencers. Don't let that put you off, it's made the same way as VAG systems, so lasts years. It's a myth that full stainless is better. it's not, it's a heavier, more resonant steel and only the very best stainless resists corrosion and fracturing.....sadly not present in some stainless systems. If it has to be full stainless, go with Magnex. The Rado magnex is spot on and not too loud.
