cadguy77 0
Anyone?
jb9999 0
The only difference between the tappets is vw ones will have vw stamped on them some place and because of this cost twice as much. Pattern ones will be engineered to exactly the same tollerances as vw onees. More than likely vw dont actually manufacture the original tappets any way and just out-source like a lot of high volume car manufacturers to keep costs down and profit up. They'll just pay for vw logo on the part.
Lizard Racing 0
VW and the ones that GSF supply are identical, will say INA on them, cost about £90ish. Part No. is 14537
overboost 19
VW and the ones that GSF supply are identical' date=' will say INA on them[/quote']Agreed m8, they are even the same in other manufacturers cars, and also made by INA. Sierra cosworth followers, for example, are the same.
fabio_vr6 0
well in all the engines ive replaced tappets on the gsf ones where noisy as hell after 500 miles where as the vw ones are still fine! take of that what u will
overboost 19
Dodgy batch maybe...???? Personally i've not had a prob with the GSF ones. Maybe i've been lucky
magentaham 0
Can you guys get Beck-Arnley over there??? I've put in tons of them and if the oil pump isn't up the spout never had a problem. Also the VW 1.8 12V lifter is the same. I've found if you order up 12 1.8 lifters you buy them for less than VR6s' (same part, go figure???)
magentaham 0
Duh!! long night. I mean 1.8, 8 valve.....

FishWick 21
Dodgy batch maybe...???? Personally i've not had a prob with the GSF ones. Maybe i've been lucky If the ones from GSF have INA stamped inside the bucket, they should be OK. Don't buy any that are unmarked, THEY are the cack ones. They might come in Febi packaging, but ignore that, they should be INA. Although VW ones are INA too, that doesn't necessarily mean the GSF ones are exactly the same quality. OE and aftermarket qualities differ, even if the parts, in theory, are the same. OE suppliers have to make them to more exacting standards.I learned that mistake with clutches from GSF. Although VW use LUK and SACHS clutches (as per GSF), the VW one is produced to finer tolerances and doesn't judder like GSF ones can. I had to have 2 warranty replacements when using GSF kits! So, although VW are profiteering gits, their tappets are £20 or so each for a reason.
