matrix 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 ive got a noise coming from the left hand side just above the alternator near the top sound increases with rpm and seems louder when the engine is cold sounds like a bearing or something can anyone help. jb9999 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 Might be your water pump bearing mate. Thats the only bearing I can think of apart from the bearing in the alternator. Try taking the belt off and running it , if the noise goes away after doing this it will be one of the two i would have thought. Then again, I could be completely wrong. jb9999 0 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 Sorry mate, I haven't done either , YET anyway. They don't look to bad to get at, sure someone will be able to tell you. I would think the water pump should be ok if it was done that recently, unless the drive belt has been over tightened, which will knack your bearings a lot quicker. Link to post Share on other sites
