ventovr6essex1 0
have u cheaked ur brakes ? does it stop if u brake lightly if so could be the pads . could be a stone in back plate but hard to say .
Dubsingh 0
i put brand spankin pads on the day i took the car to ultimate dubs. it was fine on the way there but on the way back is when the trouble started....might take the pads off again and copper grease the backs...could it be a sezing caliper??? it is quite hard to turn the wheel (it wont free wheel for lon it stops the minute i let go
FishWick 21
Do you get a grinding noise at all when turning? Could be a spent wheel bearing. You can't really tell if they're shot by wobbling the wheel.
Dubsingh 0
yup sounds like grinding squaiking and its not constant its like half a turn noise then no noise...it dnt make noise on acc, but only at constant speed or wind down...
ventovr6essex1 0
this is starting to become quite a common problem , i work at a errrrrrrrr a vauxhall main dealer at the mo and they have this problem . what it comes down to is that they cannot use asbestos ( i know thats not how its spelt) in the brakes anymore . the pads are much harder making discs ware out much faster . what type of pads did u use i use fast road pads seem to be ok. what i do at work to help this problem is put a 45 degree edge on the leading edge of the pad and some times on the trailing edge . some pads already come with this done . it helps with the bedding in plus the squeek is not as bad
sinclair 0
This seems to be a more common fault in vento's than golf's...it sounds like the same problem I had with the same wheel. If it sounds more like a rubbery creek at slow speeds, and only on part of the wheel rotation, and a grinding noise on lock at speed, especially constant turns like going round a roundabout it is more likely to be the hub, not majorly expensive, and the job means replacing the wheel bearing too. Bonus . Dont throw money at the car changing brakes, bearings etc I recommend trying the hub first. Good luck.
Guy 1
I had one where the disc didnt sit back cleanly on the hub and ran slightly out of true, absolutley drove me mental beyond belief.Squeek,Squeek,Squeek all the bloody time!!I replaced the hub and it's all good now.
