Bryanhickman7777 0
Hi there, this august i will be 21 and will recieve my first years no claims. (passed when i was 19)But for some reason insurance companies are quoting me 3400!!!!! I love the vr6, and dont want to wait 2-3 years as the mileage builds up. Any advice??? goonersteve 0
You'll find it hard to get a quote much lower than that i'm afraid! It'll def be in the £1000's rather than £100's.Try Adrian Flux, they are usually pretty good for performance cars and young drivers.
vr6madmike 0
What are you driving at the moment? If your young like me then the best thing you can do is gradually build up to the vr6, no company is going to be that happy if you jump from a 1.1 corsa to the vr6!
Alexis 0
We have only just been able to think about anything like a VR6 and we are 26 and 25! I had to work my way up from a 1.2 Nova and then a 1.4 Escort, then a 1.6 Escort 2.0 Mondeo and now VR6. !lol Can easily believe that you have been quoted £3,400 - my brother-in-law was quoted £1,500 for a 1.0 Polo when he was 19! Persevere and you will find a good one in a couple of years ..... you will find a newer one with low mileage. If you do decide to go ahead - it will be the best fun you ever had. My hubby was a Ford Mechanic and has driven Cossie's etc but the VR6 is the best!
dagovernor 0
hey guys im 20 and have had my vr6 vento since i was 19. its insured 3rd party fire and theft (8000 miles a year with performance exhaust) in my name and costs me about £800 with elephant (its a 10 month policy). when i was 19 it was £1200 which was not to bad. the reason why i can insure is that i was with a company called frezzel (i think thats how its spelt) with a 1.6 astra and after 2years they gave me 60% no claims discount!! elephant classed it as 5 years!! frezzel were quite expensive but it saves in long run. will have 7 years no claims after this year and only 21! also try adding an older named driver to your policy it will lower it. goonersteve 0
You've done alright outta that then!Only thing you need to watch is that in the future, other insurance companies may question the fact that you have 7 yrs NCB but have only been driving 3, 4, 5, or how ever many years. Therefore they may not accept your proof of NCB. But there will always be someone who does, so it aint too much of a problem.
