Guest Anonymous62.254.112.170
depends on your budget m8... but best coilovers in terms of quality and value are FK konigsports, theyre ride and height adjustable and cost about £500+vat

binliner 0
The shocks are koni so they are quality.... theyve been recommended to me by just about everyone (mine are on order at the moment!)
adeingolf 0
Im also after some help in this field. I want to lower my car but dont particularly want to spend £100's of pounds as it may soon become more of a weekend drive. (Company van may soon be a possibility).Ive heard conflicting arguments as to wether springs only is a worthwhile option.Basically I want to lower the car for looks and a bit of stiffness rather than all out cornering ability!1. Is this a worthwhile road to go down?2. If so, what kind of money should I expect to pay for them including fitting?3. Any suggestions what type/manufacturer or where to go?Thanks in advance for any help.BTW apologies if this is 'jumping' on someone elses thread!
binliner 0
I wouldnt go for springs only... because the shorter stiffer springs wont be matched to the standard shocks meaning the ride will be awful and the shocks will wear out quicker (trust me I did it on my first gti!)you can get uprated shocks and springs kits for as little as £150ish (raceland.co.uk) which will do the job, should cost about £50 to get em fitted... dont expect too much though because you get what you pay for IMO
adeingolf 0
Cheers for that, think you have confirmed my fears! All dependant on wether I change my job and get a van.
Bennett 0
forget the van bud, keep the golf - Is it a VR (dont mean to insult, was just askin)
adeingolf 0
Oh dont worry - the vr (yes it is!) is going nowhere, wanted one for years and am now extremely happy with it. Just have a business opportunity that includes a van to think about!
Phil 0
Your best bet for a VR is to chuck Koni T/A's on. and Eibach springs. Don't mess about wasting your money on anything else.ARB's wise, you want to be looking at Eibach - bout 200 quid for a set.
adeingolf 0
Again cheers for the advice, lots to think about - so many things I want to do. Could be handy with christmas coming up too!

adeingolf 0
Too many things to start listing!Pete im after a set of quad headlights, seen a few cheaper sets at swg, gcc etc; are they any good or is it best to go for morette or the like???
VR6Pete 1,455
ive got hella... they are nice good build quality i think tehy are about 200 quid
Phil 0
I prefer the Morrette one's myself, as the lights look bigger and give the car less of a gawky look. If you know what I mean......
VR6Pete 1,455
look exactly the same to me so im not fussed hehe

adeingolf 0
Think I agree with Pete on this one - the light surrounds seem to stick out too much on those morettes!
binliner 0
I think thats just the picture.... personally I prefer crytal mk4s on a mulberry highline
tommy 0
I chose the tinted hella`s,.......... thought about the crystal mk4 lights but didn?t think on a black car they looked as aggressive,I did however looked at other makes of twin headlamp conversions but most of them didn?t look as good, that?s just my view on it anyway
