GVK 1
The best way to improve engine pick up for £200 is lighten the flywheel. It's about 15lbs as standard' date=' take it down to 7lbs and the engine will spin up like it's on drugs.[/quote']LOL a funny quote I found whilst searching for the weight of a VR flywheel.Picked up an Unorthodox racing alloy flywheel at the weekend from a mate whose changed his mind far too many times on what his 2 dr Jetta project power plant might be. gav_113 0
i have a obd1 2.9 TB bored out, with bigger butterfly. i compared it wit std 2.8 obd1 and it was bout 3mm bigger.it did make a difference, but not much better than my other one which had the lumps removed? think i was just expecting a bigger difference. throttle response is loads better and picks up better.on flywheel subject do u lose any top end with the lighten fly wheel?i know RS turbos did, i had one lighten and it had a shit top speed? maybe took to much off?? antera309 3
With an XXL TB, cone filter and a remap, the car should feel noticeably quicker than standard. When I fitted the Corrado TB to mine, it did pull a bit stronger at high revs.
